Division 3 Round up - 10/10/09

posted 11/10/09 - Derek Hodge (Sevenoaks & District League)

A Baz Pennells solo goal gave Division Three leaders Ide Hill Reserves a narrow 1-0 victory over hosts Ightham Reserves.  Long serving Pennells is relishing life in the lower section and the fact the team are riding high at present.

Both Nomads B who were knocked off pole position and AW London Reserves lost their unbeaten records.  Aaron Khon scored for the Edenbridge based side but goals by James Read (2) and John Sullivan gave visiting Radius FC a 3-1 advantage.

A Gary Rolfe strike gave AW London Reserves a 1-0 interval lead against Swanley Oaks, but a brace of goals after the break by Sam Smedley helped his side gain a 2-1 victory, a result which confirmed their mid table spot.

Bottom of the table Borough Green were left still searching for that elusive first point of the season after a 2-1 reverse against Seal 3rd but neighbours Borough Green United Reserves continued their promising start to the campaign defeating Tonbridge Baptist Church Reserves 7-1.  James Coupland scored a hat trick, James Frankham a double, while Justin Gumbleton and Charlie Slocombe also added their names to the score sheet.

The Hildenborough Athletic 3rd team and Westerham 4th match produced no fewer than nine goal before the Hammers eventually won 6-3 to move into the runners-up spot in the table.  For the victors Tom Paisley (2), Lee Cathcart, Lee Harding, Dan Lambert and Billy White recorded credits.  Sam Hill, Craig Kirwan and Jay Chandler replied for Hildenborough.

Division 3 Round up - 28/02/09

Westerham 4th, leaders of Division Three, went down 3-0 to Swanley Oaks whose goals came by courtesy of Wes Himsworth, Ian Ransom and Sam Smedley.  Despite this reverse the Hammers still have a four points lead over second placed Potters FC although having played two more matches.

Mike Beverley put Potters FC ahead on fifteen minutes when he headed the ball back into the back of the Radius FC net after the goalkeeper had punched the ball off his goal line.  Thereafter, Potters dominated the first half without adding to the score line.  Into the second half Radius came out with all guns blazing and equalised on fifty minutes.  As the game progressed it looked as though the two teams would share the points until Beverley got the winner after a fine solo run to record a 2-1 victory.

Third placed Wilderpark Reserves kept in the running for promotion with a comfortable 8-2 away win against Borough Green.  Chris Gubbins netted four times and there were individual strikes for Howard Atkinson, his first for the club, Tim Champkins along with Barry Andrews.

James Webb opened the scoring for AW London Reserves against Ightham Reserves who then went on to beat the Mid-Kent side 2-1.  A Paul Abbott strike brought the scores level into the second half but when Webb was brought down inside the area Dane Bulled successfully scored from the spot.

Seal 3rd recorded a narrow 1-0 win over the bottom team Nomads Reserves while Tonbridge Baptist Church Reserves defeated another struggling team Ide Hill Reserves 4-2.  Luke Roberts and Baz Pennells scored the Hill’s consolation goals.

Division 3 Round up - 21/02/09

posted 24/02/09 - Derek Hodge (Sevenoaks & District League)

Westerham 4th’s charge towards promotion from Division Three continued as they warded off the challenge of Radius FC to notch a 4-2 victory.  James Beeny, Luke Cathcart, Tom Paisley and Jed Smith netted for the Hammers while James Reid and Carl Wilson replied for the losers.

AW London Reserves took the lead though a Robert Enoch free kick after just fifteen minutes play against Potters FC  who then came back well with both Henry Willard and Mike Beverley going close.  On the stroke of half time Beverley sent in an exquisite 30 yards free kick which sailed over the motionless keeper and into the top far corner.  Potters piled on the pressure during the second half eventually taking the lead through Beverley and another free kick.  Further chances went begging until with only five minutes remaining Willard played a through ball to Shaun Smart whose low shot was partially saved by the keeper but he was on hand to head the rebound into the net.

Missing the services of  prolific goal scorer Chris Morris with a broken nose sustained against Nomads Reserves, Wilderpark Reserves came out on top against Ightham Reserves to win 2-0 at Raleys Field to keep in touch with the top teams.  Fellow striker Chris Gubbins maintained his scoring record along with Will Porter-Bean.

Goals by Simon Reynolds, Dean Miller, Ashley Plaskett, Richard Lee and Dean Leach helped Seal 3rd to a comfortable 5-0 success over lowly Ide Hill Reserves while fellow strugglers Nomads Reserves went down 2-1 to Tonbridge Baptist Church Reserves.  Frazer Glasscoe and Dan Watson scored for the victors.

Goals by Jimmy Moore and Ian Ransom kept Swanley Oaks in the match against Borough Green but the hosts eventually had the scoring edge to win narrowly 3-2.

Westerham 4th opened up a six point gap at the top of Division Three as they saw off the challenge of Swanley Oaks to win 5-2.  James Bean notched a hat trick and there was a brace of goals for long serving Craig Hoadley.

Chris Morris joined the list of hat tricksters as Wilderpark Reserves defeated Tonbridge Baptist Church Reserves 4-2 at Raleys Field.  The Park enjoyed much of the possession but poor shooting often let then down.  In particular Andy Garland missed a golden opportunity in the second half when unmarked on the far post, failed to hit the target with a header.  Tim Lissenden scored the other goal. Scottie Ewing with a scrambled shot and Daniel Watson from the penalty spot scored for the visitors.

Division 3 Round up - 06/12/08

It was also a good afternoon for Westerham 4th as they maintained their lead at the top of Division Three with a convincing 6-2 advantage over hosts and second placed Ightham Reserves. It was only the second League defeat of the season for the mid-Kent team.  Craig Hoadley starred for the Hammers netting four times while Paul Abbott netted a double for the home team.

Potters FC moved up into the second spot following a narrow but important 3-2 win over Tonbridge Baptist Church Reserves who went in at the break leading by the only goal of the half.  Leading goal scorer Mike Beverley brought the scores level into the second period but the Baptist Church then restored their advantage before Peter De-Kisshazy equalised.  With time running out A. Beharrell grabbed the all important winner.

At the other end of the table the bottom Club Nomads Reserves recorded their first success of the season winning 4-2 against Ide Hill Reserves. Alan Kohn netted a brace of goals for the winners while Mark Huckstep and Rees Vosper replied for the Hill.

A Richard Lees double helped Seal 3rd to a 2-1 success over AW London Reserves for whom Nathan Simpson scored while Radius and Borough Green contested a 3-3 draw. Danny Cook (2) and Graeme Cook scored for the Green.

The Swanley Oaks and Tonbridge Baptist Church Reserves encounter produced no fewer than twelve goals before Oaks won 8-4.  For the victors there were strikes from Jimmy Moore (3), Gavin and Sam Smedley who each netted a brace and Anthony Russo. For Baptist Church Frazer Glasscoe notched a hat trick with John Chadwick also getting his name on the score sheet.

Division Three leaders Ightham Reserves slipped to their first defeat of the campaign going down by the only goal of the game scored by Hassan Akill for AW London Reserves.  The visitors thus move up into second place in the section.

Ide Hill Reserves at last kick started their season by recording a 4-1 advantage over Radius FC.  Mark Roberts (2) , long serving Paul Fisk and Andre Aboagye scored the all important goals which saw the  victors move up the table.

Wilderpark Reserves were back to winning ways with a 6-3 advantage over Tonbridge Baptist Church Reserves at Tonbridge Farm in the only Division Three encounter.  The Park raced into a 5-0 lead but into the second period somehow lost their way making several substitutions.  Chris Morris notched four goals while Chris Gubbins and Will Porter-Bean also got their names on the score sheet.  Wes Laker, Frazer Glasscoe and Michael Ewing replied for the home team.

Division 3 Round up - 01/11/08

posted 05/10/08 - Derek Hodge (Sevenoaks & District League)

Leaders of Division Three, Ightham Reserves maintained pole position in the section despite dropping points in a 2-2 drawn encounter against Seal 3rd.  Dan Palmer and Christian Hitchcock replied to goals scored by John Moyce and Jamie Wharren.

Challenging Potters FC cruised to a 7-2 triumph over Wilderpark Reserves whose defence has become somewhat insecure after keeping a clean sheet in the opening four League matches.  Potters got on top from the first whistle with Peter De-Kisshazy scoring and further strikes followed through Mark Howard, a header and Henry Willard which gave them a 3-0 interval lead.  Then Mike Beverley (2), Sean Smart together with an own goal saw Potters add further goals during the second period of play. Jon Redman and Chris Morris replied for the Park.

Improving Ide Hill Reserves collected their first point of the season in a 3-3 drawn encounter with Westerham 4th.   The Hammers went into the match unbeaten but had to battle hard to salvage a point.  Mark Roberts (2) and Will Moore scored for the Hill while Jeff Smith, Dave Lambert and Craig Hoadley netted for the Hammers.

Swanley Oaks crushed Radius FC 5-0 while AW London Reserves returned from a visit to Edenbridge and Nomads Reserves with a 4-0 win under their belt.   Dayne Bullard (2), Bill Payne and James Webb were the scorers.

Tonbridge Baptist Church Reserves moved up into third place in the section after a 1-0 victory over Borough Green at Tonbridge Farm.  It was a closely contested affair and decided by a Wes Laker goal following a deep cross by Blundell.  This after Borough Green had twice struck the woodwork.

Division 3 Round up - 25/10/08

posted 28/10/08 - Derek Hodge (Sevenoaks & District League)

Wilderpark Reserves, leaders of Division Three, slumped to their first reverse of the season against Ightham Reserves as they recorded a 3-1 victory.   It was the first time this season that the Park had conceded any goals and Jason Elliott, with a hat trick, proved to be a thorn in their side.  Brian Carter netted for the Park against his former club of yesteryear.

Ightham Reserves retained their one hundred percent record and moved to the top of the table closely followed by Potters FC who just had the edge to record a 2-1 advantage over Seal 3rd.  Sean Smart and Mike Beverley scored for the victors.

Goals by Wes Laker (3), Frazer Glasscoe and Connor Morron helped Tonbridge Baptist Church Reserves to a narrow 5-4 win over Swanley Oaks for whom Sam Smedley netted a hat trick along with Jimmy Moore who added his name to the score sheet.

Goals by James Beaney (2), Jeff Smith (2), Luke Cathcart and Craig Hoadley gave Westerham 4th a 7-2 success over struggling Nomads Reserves whilst both AW London Reserves, who defeated Ide Hill Reserves 3-1 and Borough Green picked up maximum points defeating Radius 3-1.

Division 3 Round up - 11/10/08

posted 13/10/08 - Derek Hodge (Sevenoaks & District League)

After a series of poor seasons when they have propped up Division Three Wilderpark Reserves stand proud at the top of the section but will be mindful of the fact that it is early days and there are some stern tasks to overcome as the season progresses.

One such test will undoubtedly come from Potters FC who after an early setback eased into a winning sequence.  A 5-0 success over visiting Nomads Reserves was in a way a modest achievement as the Edenbridge based team have now lost all of their opening matches.  Mike Beverley was again the scoring hero netting his second hat trick in succession and getting goal scoring support from Sean Smart (2).

Tonbridge Baptist Church Reserves and AW London Reserves contested a closely fought encounter with the visitors to Tonbridge Farm just having the scoring edge to win by the only goal scored by Jordan Turner.  Featuring on the left Turner latched on to a 40 yard pass by Bill Payne to cut in and round the goalkeeper before scoring from a tight angle.

Division 3 Round up - 04/10/08

posted 07/10/08 - Derek Hodge (Sevenoaks & District League)

Wilderpark moved to the top of Division Three after seeing off a spirited challenge from Nomads Reserves to win 3-0.  In all fairness the Park dominated the proceedings and missed a hat-full of chances.  Chris Morris eventually broke the deadlock which was followed by an excellent strike from Brian Carter with Morris finally completing the scoring with a low shot.

Robert Enoch scored during the second half for AW London Reserves to give his side a share of the spoils in a 1-1 draw against Westerham 4th, who thus drop down two places in the table with Ightham Reserves moving into the second spot.

Christian Hitchcock netted a hat trick as Ightham Reserves continued in winning vein to see off the challenge of Swanley Oaks with a 7-2 advantage.  Oaks were under strength for this fixture and were always under pressure to contain the mid-Kent side’s forwards. Ian Ralph (2), Dave Owens and Paul Jeffcoate were also amongst the credits.

Potters FC won the local derby against Borough Green  winning 6-0 who were playing their first competitive match of the season.  Mike Beverley started the scoring then going on to complete his hat trick.  Also on the score sheet were Henry Willard with a half volley, Sean Smart and Don McCloy who wrapped up the scoring.

Ashley Callaghan and Ian Holmes gave Radius FC the perfect start against Tonbridge Baptist Church Reserves both goals coming during the opening three minutes.   However, two somewhat fortunate goals brought the visitors back into the game as the teams turned round at the half way stage level at two apiece.  Frazer Glasscoe scored a hat trick for the Baptist Church and there were individual strikes for Rob Mardell and Connor Morron.

Seal 3rd with goals by Ian Leach and Ollie Sanders defeated Ide Hill Reserves 2-0 and in so doing picked up their first points of the season.  But it left the Hill suffering their third defeat in succession and struggling at the  foot of the table.

Division 3 Round up - 27/09/08

posted 30/09/08 - Derek Hodge (Sevenoaks & District League)

In Division Three Wilderpark Reserves chalked up a notable 2-0 win over hosts Swanley Oaks. In a closely contested affair Park just had the edge with credits from James Trick and an own goal.

The top marksman of the day was Robert Enoch who netted five times as AW London Reserves coasted to a comfortable 7-0 victory over newcomers Radius FC.  Also on target was Sam Marden with a double.

Mike Beverley gave Potters FC a first half lead against visiting Ide Hill Reserves but into the second period the Hill forged ahead scoring on two occasions by scrambling the ball over the goal line.  Undeterred Potters fought back levelling through Sean Smart and then getting the all important decider when P. De-Kisshazy hit a shot from 25 yards into the corner of the net for them to chalk up a 3-2 success.

Neighbours Ightham Reserves returned from a visit to Nomads Reserves with a 2-0 advantage thanks to strikes by courtesy of Andy Hitchcock and Mick Harris and Westerham 4th thrashed Tonbridge Baptist Church Reserves 7-1. Frazer Glasscoe scored the hosts consolation goal.

If it was all doom and gloom for Westerham 3rd the 4th team were more fortunate as they recorded a comfortable 6-0 advantage over Seal 3rd.  Also in Division Three Wilderpark Reserves won 4-0 against new boys AW London Reserves at Raleys Field.  The match was a personal triumph for Chris Morris who netted a hat trick.  Chris Gubbins was the other scorer.  On a bright note for AW London there were good performances by Kirk Foran and a new signing from Westerham George Henry.

Making their League baptism Swanley Oaks eased to a comfortable 4-0 victory over Ide Hill Reserves, who started brightly but lost concentration and shape following the opening goal.  Ightham Reserves defeated neighbours Potter FC 2-1 with Christian Hitchcock netting both goals for the victors and Mike Reoch replying from the penalty spot.

Goals by Wes Laker (2), Gary Smith, Connor Morron and Dave Chadwick gave Tonbridge Baptist Church Reserves a comfortable 5-1 advantage over Nomads Reserves at Tonbridge Farm.

Friendly provides a positive start

posted 12/09/07

Despite eventually losing 4-2 to Hildenborough Reserves the newly re-formed TBC Reserves were able to "gel" quickly after a slightly nervous start. With a few more matches under their belt and time together as a team they will become testing opposition for anybody in their league.

Opening fixtures announced

posted 26/08/07

Our newly re-formed reserves start off their 07/08 campaign with a tricky away fixture to fellow "new-kids-on-the-block" Kemsing Utd Reserves. Their 1st team were promoted to the Premiership last season so a tough game should be expected.

The following week they face a recently relegated Ide Hill Reserves at the Longmead Ground in what should prove to be 3 relatively easy points.
